Who we are
... CARES Magazine was launched in June of 2010 by Owner/Publisher Amy Michael. CARES provides nonprofits with a place to communicate their mission, goals, challenges and appreciation to the community.  Using the navigation at the top right of the page, please choose your city to see all of the local nonprofit news in your community.

Starting with just four nonprofits, Springfield CARES has grown to over 40 nonprofits in Springfield. Kansas City Metro CARES is only in its first year works with eight nonprofit members to help communicate their mission. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be able to work with them in sharing the great work they do and the wonderful ways that they help the community.

The idea behind CARES Magazine is to give each nonprofit a voice, a way to share stories, goals, needs, and appreciation. The CARES membership program provides nonprofit organizations with an annual marketing plan that answers the growing need for increased communication with the community and, specifically, donors in the area. The CARES team started with a small handful of folks who saw the need for a consistent nonprofit communication medium.

At its inception, CARES magazine started with four employees and four nonprofit member organizations. Since then CARES has grown and split into two editions - one in Springfield and one in Kansas City - collectively serving 48 nonprofit member organizations.
