What is the Front Porch?
It's 3 things, really.1) A Gathering Place for all those who belong to The Core Community. That's you, by the way, so it's time to get creative. I'll get you started... think Book Clubs, Master Classes, Artist Workshops, Jam Sessions, Support Groups, Birthday Parties, Prayer Gatherings, Candlelight Vigils, Bar Mitzvahs... whatever you can think of that will foster Authentic Community and bring people closer together.
2) A Third Place If home is your First Place, and work is your Second Place, what is your Third Place? You know, the place where you can be yourself, build friendships, and unwind. The gym? The mall? Probably not. The Front Porch is open most evenings throughout the week, even when there's not an event, so people can just come in and enjoy themselves--and each other--over a beverage, snack or dessert in a relaxed environment. But don't bother unless you're prepared to make new friends with people who are different from you.
3) An Arts & Music Venue Whether it's a rock band, an art exhibit, an open mic night, a hempcraft club, or a guitar lesson, the Front Porch is available to promote the arts in downtown Springfield.
