Chelsea began working part-time at Springfield Veterinary Center in October 2007. She graduated from Parkview High School in 2008 and is beginning classes at Ozark Technical College in the fall of 2008. She hopes to work in the environmental field after graduation. She shares her home with two dogs, Mia and Marcello. Chelsea enjoys spending time with friends, camping and playing the cello.
Sherrie has worked at Springfield Veterinary Center (Trokey Animal Hospital) since October 1998.Sherrie and her husband, Randy, have one son, Trent. Sherrie's family also includes three small dogs (Hannah, Katie and Olive) and one cat (Sam). Katie is a registered therapy dog and has worked with Pet Therapy of the Ozarks for four years. Each month Sherrie and Katie visit residents at a local nursing home. Sherrie's hobbies include watercolor painting, drawing and gardening.
Lisa has been employed by Springfield Veterinary Center (Trokey Animal Hospital) since 2001. Lisa and her husband Dave share their home with two dogs (Minnie & Zeke) and five cats (Precious, Simon, Sirius, Fidget and Peanut). Lisa's dogs are registered therapy dogs and have worked with Pet Therapy of the Ozarks for four years. Lisa is also a certified Yoga instructor. She conducts several classes each week in Mount Vernon. Lisa's hobbies include spending time with her dogs and riding her bicycle.
Sara started working part-time at SVC in June 2006 and became a full-time employee in May 2008. Sara earned her AS in Business and Marketing from Ozarks Technical College in 2008. She hopes to one day own and operate her own boarding kennel. She shares her home with 2 cats, Leon and Stitch. She also has a labrador puppy named Luke. Sara's hobbies include horseback riding, cleaning and spending time with her husband Greg.
Cynthia is an Independence, KS native. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pittsburg State University in 1995 where she was also a four-year letter winner on the Gorilla Track & Field Team and earned MIAA All-Academic team honors. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1999. Cynthia was an associate veterinarian in Wilson, NC prior to moving to Springfield.
Heath is a native of Bryant, SD. He attended Kansas State University for his undergraduate studies. Heath earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 from Iowa State University. Heath became PennHIP certified in 2001. PennHIP helps identify the potential for hip dysplasia as early as 16 weeks of age. Early detection of hip laxity allows lifestyle changes to be made which may slow the onset of arthritis. More surgical options are available for correction of hip dysplasia when identified at a young age.
